Wing Chun- Chinese Boxing
Wing Chun was made known to many Westerners through its most famous disciple- Jun Fan, English name: Bruce Lee. It is from the basic principles of this ancient Chinese martial art, a branch of Kung Fu, that the Little Dragon patterned his own art- Jeet Kune Do after.
The exact origin of Wing Chun, like most of its contemporaries, is quite hazy. In fact even the source of the name itself is a matter of dispute. This is due to the fact that documentation was absent during most of its early years and teacher to student instruction was done orally. Another reason is its origins and inventor may have been covered-up on purpose, as it was developed at a time of anti Qing Dynasty rebellion of the Shaolin movement. The words "Wing Chun" literally translates to "spring chant" or "forever spring". Ironically, if two popular accounts of its origin is correct, this aggressive, deadly martial art done in close range was named after a troubled girl- the one that developed it.
Yim Wing-Chun, as one of the legends go was a beautiful girl who was doing her best not to become betrothed to a warlord who expressed interest in marrying her. She made a deal with the unwanted warrior that she would only give her hand if he beat her in a match. Allegedly, Wing Chun enlisted the aid of a Buddhist nun to teach her fighting techniques and was able to defeat her admirer with the style they came-up with. She then goes ahead and marries her true love who in turn named the martial art after her.
The basic principles of Wing Chun are practicality, efficiency and hitting a target with the least amount of movement as possible. It's all about the fighter's centerline- how to preserve it and at the same time, how to destroy the opponent's.
Typical of Chinese martial arts, Wing Chun has several forms. Siu Nim Tao is the basic foundation for all the other forms and techniques. This is where balance of the practitioner's body through proper stance and its structure is developed. Chum Kiu, the second form develops techniques in approach and attack- close-range blows from elbows and knees are also developed in this form. This is where recovery techniques to regain balance and the centerline are also utilized in case of the loss of Siu Nim Tao- the first form. The third form serves as an emergency plan- in case the practitioner is injured and can't regain his centerline. Comprised of sweeping, longer-range kicks and punches, Biu Jee is to be used only as a last resort as it can impart deadly, mortal injuries. The fourth Wing Chun training form is what most martial artists know Wing Chun for- the Mook Yan Jong utilizing the wooden dummy. Not really shaped like a human, it's purpose is to train the fighter proper energy management and angling of blocks and strikes. The last form, which comes after mastery of the open-hand techniques are the weapons forms. In Wing Chun, the deadly twin Butterfly Swords, the long pole and sometimes throwing darts are the weapons used.

What Do Women Find Attractive In A Man?
Men, if you think you've got what it takes to turn the heads of the ladies, you may be mistaken! Likewise, fellas, you may indeed have what women want! A survey was taken of a group of women, ages 29-50 and listed below are some of their likes and dislikes when it comes to the male species!
POSITIVE FIRST IMPRESSIONS: When asked the question :What is the first thing you notice when you see or meet a man? some of the responses included:
Probably his eyes - "the windows to the soul"; then his butt, for sure!
I like bigger guys. But I also notice white shirts and if a guy is clean cut.
Visually, his height/build (I like 'em big) Personality-wise, intelligence and sense of humor rank high with me.
I always notice the eyes and overall cleanliness first. He doesn't have to be in a three piece suit but just clean, not stinky or wearing holey clothes. A great smile doesn't hurt either :)
Left ring finger, teeth and smell and in that order. If I see a man is married, I rarely give him a second glance. If he's single I look at his mouth to see if he has straight teeth (I had braces at 40 years old, so I guess I expect straight teeth from grown men) and finally his scent. I absolutely adore the smell of cologne on a man.
Well the first things I usually notice are his eyes and sense of humor. Then if he was someone I was dating, I observe how he treats his mother.
OK don't laugh, but I guess I noticed teeth because I was a dental assistant when I met my husband. Oh ya, I also tried to check out his "package" but it was very hard to tell if anything was there!
His smile and physique.
Conversely, there are some things about a man that are an instant turn off to the gals.
NEGATIVE FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Long hair, bad breath, body odor, "wimpy" or fem appearance.
Generally any kind of unkempt appearance.
No little tiny ones, short in height that is, I'm afraid I'll have to pass by those gents who are vertically challenged.
Fuzzy sweater teeth and scuffed up, unpolished shoes. Dirty hands, dirty nails.
I hate dirty ears. If the guy has earwax, I will notice immediately and it makes me gag! I would never be able to date someone who doesn't clean his ears regularly.
Long fingernails and dirty/too long/unkempt hair.
Looking at my body instead of my face. Use of vulgar or profane language. Intoxication or drug usage.
Evidence of poor personal care habits.
So there you go, men. The women have spoken. Basically if you smile and don't stink, you have an in. Conversely, if your personal hygiene leaves much to be desired, you can forget it.
Now go wash your hands, get a hair cut, use a q-tip, brush your teeth and smile pretty for the babes!

Framing a Sports Jersey
One might think that keeping the jersey they wore in high school in the closet is the best way to maintain it. I would have to say they are sorely mistaken. That football jersey you wore during the championship game, the uniform donned for your first pee-wee league game, or even the jersey you wore when your favorite team won a championship. These items are not just articles of clothing, they embody pieces of personal history and deserve to be treated as such. The best way known to maintain a jersey is to have it framed. Framing a jersey serves two purposes.
The first purpose is that framing a jersey maintains it in its current state and protects it from any future damage. Being the owner of many jerseys, some framed and some not, the damage a jersey can sustain by just being hung on a hanger compared to one framed and hung on a wall is amazing. Over time the threads and fabrics in the shoulders will stretch and weaken. Not to mention the damage that can be caused by constantly wearing, washing, and drying of a jersey.
The other reason to frame a jersey is so that it can be displayed in all of its glory above the mantle or beside that 52 inch plasma TV we all want adorning our wall. Just imagine that jersey hanging on the wall while watching a championship game on the big screen.
Reliving your glory days while at the same time sharing those memories with family and friends. In all honesty how can a jersey stuffed in a drawer somewhere even compare. The assumption that most people make is that framing a jersey is as simple as slapping it in a frame, covering it in glass and tossing it on the wall. That could not be farther from the truth. Framing a jersey properly is a talent best left to professionals. Why would a person have it any other way?
Would you really want to risk damaging that one of a kind jersey autographed by a childhood hero?
Beyond the possible damage that could be inflicted upon the jersey, a professionally framed jersey is a work of art that any self respecting sports fan can be proud of. Although if you do go the route of do it yourself framing there are a few things to remember. Determine how much of the jersey you want to display and measure the matting board, foam core backing and frame accordingly.
Make sure that you tightly secure the jersey to the matting board either by sewing it or pinning it. Finally I would suggest using Plexiglas instead of glass because glass can shatter and damage your jersey. I am not suggesting that all jerseys should be framed. That one that my wife wears while cleaning the house is definitely not on the list of jerseys I would frame.
On the other hand there are those that deserve nothing less. Why leave them in the shadows of a dresser or a closet only to fade slowly from memory until no longer do they inspire us or remind us of those moment we are most proud of.

Surveillance has been around ever since people wanted to determine what the other side is doing so that they can crush their enemies or to protect themselves from attack. What is commonly known as spying is now called as surveillance. The only difference is the toys and the people.
